Friday Field Notes: 5/29/2025
Happy Friday, folks.
Summer is right around the corner, and that means another shift in buying behavior.
I was talking to a client this week who said their industry completely shuts down in the summer.
That doesn’t mean people aren’t buying. It just means they’re buying something different.
So, if you’re in a similar situation, ask, “What does my audience want/need, right now?”
Ideally, you don’t have to throw away anything you’ve built. You just need bridge offer that gets them in the door.
In other news, if you’re a newer agency, making less than $300k, and want to go through my program, I’ve got a cohort starting in a few weeks and we have a few slots left.
It’s 90 days, and you’ll leave with a clear ICP, a named and framed problem to market, a designed solution, and everything packaged as a compelling offer.
We’ll meet weekly, but you’ll also have Slack access to me to continue growing your business.
Just shoot me a reply to this or DM me on LinkedIn.
Lessons Learned This Week:
1. Nobody is coming to save you.
Mentors, coaches, courses…they help. But ownership is the only real unlock. The sooner you stop waiting for someone to tell you what to do, the faster things move.
I’ve got a patch on my body armor that says, “Expect to Self-Rescue.”
It’s as true in business as anywhere else.
2. Consistency > Intensity.
So many agencies want quick fixes for their pipeline.
Check it out: If that was easy, everyone would be doing it. No one would ever have a pipeline issue.
But it’s not easy. It’s one of the hardest things to do with your business.
The agencies I’ve worked with that are successful aren’t the ones looking for quick leads, they’re committed to taking the right actions every day to build their pipeline.
And for some, including my own business, it took almost a year. But then, things start firing on all cylinders.
Consistency pays.
3. There’s a difference between delegation and abdication.
Handing something off doesn’t mean forgetting about it. You still own the outcome, even if you don’t do the task.
The leader is responsible for everything the team does or fails to do.
It doesn’t mean you can’t hold people accountable, but it does mean at the end of the day, it’s on you.
